IMPERIAL CITIES AND DESERT SINCE FEZ

Day 1: Fez
Reception at the airport in Fez and transfer to your riad / hotel. Depending on the time of arrival, we will visit the old medina, discovering one of the wonders of the city through its narrow and colorful streets. We will also see the famous old door and a tannery.

Day 2: Fez – Midelt
We will have breakfast and we will leave for the Berber village Midelt, crossing the middle Atlas and passing through the famous Azrou, it is an important Berber population with more than 50,000 inhabitants. But better known than this population, is the Bosque de Cedros, where was the largest millenary cedar in the area. The monkeys of Gibraltar are also found in this forest. We will have lunch and late in the evening we will arrive at Midelt. In October the Festival of Apples is celebrated and it is a good place to buy carpets.

Day 3: Midelt – Merzouga
After breakfast, we will go to the desert of Merzouga, passing Berber villages such as Errachidia and Erfoud. Free lunch After the rest we will stop in the Ziz Valley that will provide us with a colorful landscape thanks to the green of the valley and the pink of the mountains. This area in the fall season is well known for finding many date traders, they trade through barter: their fruit, they exchange it with species or plants.
We will continue our trip and arrive in the evening to Merzouga.

Day 4: Merzouga – Khamlia – Erg Chebbi Desert
Today we will take one of the greatest experiences, live the customs of the nomads. First we will make a stop in the village of Khamlia, a town famous for its hospitality and music. Its inhabitants belong to the Gnawa tribe. In the afternoon we will continue touring the desert. We will arrive at the foot of the dunes, where a caravan of camels (one per person) will be waiting for us to arrive at your camp in the middle of the desert. But first, we’ll stop to see the spectacular twilight. Once we get back into the dromedaries we will arrive at the camp, where we will have dinner and spend a magical night under a blanket of stars.

Day 5: Merzouga – Dades Valley
Today it is time to wake up soon to be able to contemplate the admirable sunrise from the great dune. Next, we will get on top of the camel of our dromedary to return to the edge of the desert, where a good breakfast awaits us in a riad. We will take our 4×4 back to the Dades valley, where we will spend the night. Before crossing through different Berber villages such as: Rissani, Girf, Tinjdad, Tinghir, and the gorges of Todra, in the latter we will stop to enjoy the views and to eat. In the afternoon we will arrive in Dadés where we can rest and enjoy a well-deserved dinner.

Day 6: Dades Gorges – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
We will have breakfast in the riad and we will go to Marrakech. During the trip, we will pass through Kelaat-M’Gouna, a town where they manufacture natural cosmetics with damask roses. We will also visit the town of Skoura known for its extensive palm grove and for the city known as the desert gate: Ouarzazate. We will stop, also in Ait Ben Haddou, famous fortress where such films were filmed as: The Jewel of the Nile or Jesus of Nazareth. We will continue through the magnificent landscape that the twists curves of the high Atlas give us and in the evening we will arrive at Marrakech.

Day 7: Marrakech – Casablanca
After breakfast we will go to Casablanca. This city is known above all for its great Mosque of Hassan II (it stands out for its minaret of 200m, one of the highest in the world), its old medina and beaches that we will know.

Day 8: Casablanca – Rabat
Today our destination will be the capital of Morocco. We will visit among other points of interest, its old buildings of colonial architecture and the decoration of the doors of the old part. In the afternoon we will continue touring the city, its markets.

Day 9: Rabat – Meknes
We will have breakfast and start the day traveling the roads of the area until we reach our destination of the day. One of the four imperial cities of Morocco, we are referring to Meknes. This city is famous for its historical monument Bab Manssur (the largest gate in North Africa), its great wall, palaces and its famous square.

Day 10: Meknes – Fez
After breakfast at the hotel / riad in Meknes, we will proceed to our return to Fez (either to your riad / hotels or transfer to the airport) and end of our services.
